Got in a couple nice hikes this week and still hit Planet Fitness several times. Loved the Burlesque Class...so much fun! Going to give the Knockouts! Boxing class a try this week!

Show Me How You Burlesque

Tonight was my first Body By Burlesque class at California Style Fitness...loved it! Loved Miss Kitty. What fun. I'm not sure how much exercise the dancing part really is, but I'll be feeling the pre-burlesque workout in the morning.


Ok, so I'm sure we only looked like this in our minds, but either way, it was fun!

Week #11

Week #11: April 20 - another 3 for a total of 24.4

Current Weight: 226 lbs

Wow, what a busy week...got in a couple hikes, some yoga with the Girl Scouts, the treadmill, and the Circuit. Way to make the week fly by!

Looking forward to my first Body by Burlesque class this week!!! Nothing better than a new form of exercise to keep things moving in the right direction!

Hugs Make Me Happy

As if a hug from your daughter isn't one of the greatest things in the world anyway, I think my biggest weight loss compliment so far came today. After school Lili Jo came up to me and wrapped her arms around me and gave me a hug...and then told me,
"Mom, I fit my arms around you and could grab my hands! I used to not be able to do that!"
One of the biggest pat on the backs I have received to date! Love my girls!

Family Hike

Today we went out to Wildlife Prairie Park and then Mike took over to the west side of Taylor Rd afterwards, to the Mountain Bike Trails, to go on a 1.7 mile hike. Very cool...I can see this happening again...and again...and again!

 This is how I feel every morning that I have to get out of bed!

Problems of a Fat Girl Losing Weight

Trying to find something to wear tonight and my jeans and I had to have a little heart to heart... It may or may not have involved me threatening to throw them all away if at least one pair doesn't start fitting without falling off! I realize this is not a bad problem to have, but aggravating none the less.

On a positive note, I'm excited about the GNO to California Style Fitness Studio to check out some new ways to lose weight and have fun!

Week #9

Week #9: another 1.6 for a total of 20.6 ...half way to goal #1 a week early!

Current weight: 229.8 lbs

Got some good hikes in this week, also kept on working on the c25k...which is kicking my butt. I'm beginning to think that running is not my thing!

Visiting the Floodplain Trail

Today we headed out to Wildlife Prairie Park to see the animals and walk around.



Before the afternoon was over, we decided to follow a sign in the back of the park that directed us to the Floodplain Trail...


We found this bench along the way, but the girls decided they didn't really want to sit on it...something about being a little mossy.


Which way? (This would have been very fitting early on in our hike when we chose the wrong path and went about 1/4 mile out of our way and had to turn around)




4.4 miles later and we were heading home. What a great day at the park!

April Fools Hike

Today was a GORGEOUS day for a hike, so Mom, me, and the girls headed out to Farmdale Reservoir to check out the trails.






I think for our first time at Farmdale and for the girls first hike, we did pretty good. Got in almost 2.9 miles of hiking in just over an hour. Might need to come exploring without the girls!
